If you have never booked a guided bass trip before, it is normal to wonder how the day actually goes. Here is the simple version, start to finish, so you know what to expect on Lake Guntersville with Captain Shane Ellis.
It starts with a call or text. Reach Shane at (256) 744-5185, tell him roughly when you want to fish, and he will let you know what dates are open. This is also the time to ask anything, whether you are brand new, bringing kids, or want to work on a specific part of your fishing.
Next you pick the details: the lake (Guntersville, Weiss, Neely Henry, or Logan Martin), the trip length (a 4-hour or a 6-hour trip), and the kind of day you want, a relaxed trip on the water or a hands-on lesson. A 100 dollar deposit holds your date on the calendar, and the remaining balance is handled with Shane on fishing day.
Before your trip, Shane confirms where to launch and what to bring for the season and conditions. You do not need to figure out the lake or haul gear, the boat, rods, reels, and tackle are all provided. The only thing you bring is your Alabama fishing license, plus weather-appropriate clothes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and food and drinks for the day.
On the water, Shane runs the trip around you. Beginners and families are welcome, and he keeps the day relaxed and full of coaching so everyone gets bites. Serious anglers are welcome too, if you want to learn new water, sharpen a seasonal pattern, or get hands-on with forward-facing sonar and imaging, just say so and that is what the day becomes.
That is really all there is to it. If you are not sure which trip fits you, call or text Shane before you book and he will help you decide.
Guided bass fishing trips from $399. Reserve your date with a $100 deposit.
